Why Hybrid Bearings Use Silicon Nitride Balls

A "hybrid bearing" pairs steel rings with ceramic balls — usually silicon nitride. The reason is physics, not fashion.

When steel is still better

Are Si₃N₄ bearing balls worth the cost?

In high-speed, high-temperature, corrosive or electrically-hostile duty, the longer life and higher speed typically repay the premium many times over.

What grades do you supply?

G5, G10 and G20 spheres from 3 to 50 mm, with sphericity down to ≤ 0.13 µm at G5.
